Maca's first encounter with Esther in Season 8 of Hospital Central was less than favourable and through the next eleven seasons, the pair experienced the trials and elations of a life grounded in the hectic pace and camaraderie found in a hospital community.

Vero joined the mêlée in season 15 and formed bonds with Maca that rivaled the love viewers had come to rely upon in the relationship between Esther and Maca, but then her time was over. Since then, the stability of the women's lives and family has been challenged again and again, and season 17 ended with their worlds about to crumble, but for Maca and Esther, there was always the hope that love will survive, and it has.

Thanks to the noble efforts of some real troopers in cyberspace, to Rachelm42 and R2Kasey and their teams, fans around the world continue to have the opportunity to experience one of the great romantic duos of our time. Here's to happy endings, season 19... cheers!
